3. Entire Game Modes - Halo Franchise

While Halo 2 might hold some detractors for its absolutely wild approach to stopping a campaign narrative just as it was getting going in order to shill for a guaranteed sequel, there was no denying the sheer stopping power of its multiplayer offering.

Simply put, Halo 2 was the king of online gaming for a fair old while.

This was in part thanks to its incredibly tight gameplay but also because of its bevy of customizable options and the ability to create and save entire game modes, some of which became so popular that they were eventually acknowledged by developers Bungie in the best way possible.

With the likes of SWAT, Griff Ball, and Infection becoming huge community hits, Bungie eventually added the modes into official playlists which in turn allowed them to go on to become staples of the Halo franchise.

Better still, thanks to the constant updates to the Master Chief Collection, certain modes like SWAT were added to regular rotation, in turn meaning that those same mode creators had actually ended up adding content to the original Halo and changing the game forever with their own personal stamp of multiplayer mayhem.
