8 ULTRA Rare Video Game Items You’ll Never Own

6. Gold Demon Scorpion - Mortal Kombat 11: Kollector's Edition

In a rare turn of events for a franchise that went through a notable downturn across the late 2000s, since Warner Bros. purchased NetherRealm, the games have largely gone from strength to strength.

MK 11 continued that momentum to become the best Mortal Kombat yet, though amongst some fun guest fighter packs and an incredible story expansion, is a skin reserved for only the most devoted players... providing they don't mind purchasing through blind faith.

See, the Kollector's Edition for Mortal Kombat 11 came in at £250/$300, comprising a hefty Scorpion bust head, various one-off items and a code for the "Gold Demon" skin. While you can still find versions of this original Kollector's Edition online, the vast majority have had their codes redeemed, and it's very hard to find a factory sealed version today.

NetherRealm would repeat this idea with Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath's Kollector's Edition, this time seeing Sub-Zero get a skin called "Avalanche" that's only redeemable if you fork out another £200. This too has of course sold out, repeating the whole process all over again.
