8 Underrated Video Games With STUNNING Art Styles
6. Harold Halibut
It's a damn shame that Harold Halibut came and went without much of a peep earlier this year, because this claymation-styled adventure game is one hell of an eye-popping treat alright.
But Harold Halibut doesn't merely approximate the tactile look and feel of stop-motion animation giants Aardman Animations - developers Slow Bros. created each of the game's assets with plasticine for real, before photographing them, digitising them, and importing them into the game.
The result is an experience that, for all of its sure flaws, is a true triumph of style over substance - and that's no backhanded compliment.
The disarming aesthetic ensures this quirky sci-fi walking sim has a real heft of personality, and amid a sea of glossy but forgettable AAA blockbusters, lends this decade-in-the-making-project an unmistakably human touch which in turn makes it so much more memorable.
