Revealed in 2021, Quantic Dream's Eclipse is an action-adventure game that takes place during the High Republic Era, several hundred years before the events of the Star Wars prequels.

The trailer for the game showcased everything you'd want in a Star Wars game; lightsabers, speeder bike chases, space battles, and even Yoda. Seeing the galaxy in this relatively unexplored era (outside of the comics) is a really appealing premise, and hooked a lot of fans.

Later details made Eclipse sound even more promising. Quantic Dream, the studio behind Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain, described Eclipse as a game which focuses on multiple branching narratives. On an update on their website, the studio said, "The way of life in the Outer Rim is being threatened and you must define your path: become the architect of a devastating war, a peacemaker who will restore balance, or something else altogether."

However, there have been some setbacks for Eclipse. Since 2018, Quantic Dream has been accused of harbouring a toxic work culture, resulting in court cases, bad PR, and a struggle for the studio to acquire new talent. As of now, there is no official release date for Eclipse, but it is likely not going to be released any time soon.
