For all intents and purposes, the upcoming Spider-Man game looks on the surface, to be a huge step above previous releases - but it's still making some of the same mistakes that the bargain-bin titles beforehand suffered from.

The latest gameplay trailer has particularly been singled out for being riddled with quick-time events. While this feature can be fine when used in moderation, all of the jaw-dropping moments from the trailer were reduced to mere button presses during highly scripted events, leaving fans wondering just how much control they'll have over the Web Head when the game eventually drops.

Indeed, Insomniac's title could finally be the one to make you genuinely feel like you're in control of Spidey, but the developers won't be able to pull it off if they continue taking agency away from the player during all the best moments.

However the devs have already proved that they're listening to fan feedback by tweaking the web-swinging speed to be a little faster after it received some criticism, so lets hope that they're on the ball when it comes to reducing the frequency of the trailer's QTEs.
