3. About The Author - Bastion
About The Author is easily Bastion's most challenging experience, a gauntlet of hellish proportions that sees the player try and take on thirty waves of ever-increasing enemies with all ten of the in-game shrines active.
These shrines, for the uninitiated, add different negative effects on the player and also buff the enemies to almost ridiculous levels, so as you can imagine having all ten on at once is like being an ice cube in Hell itself in that you're going to make a small puddle and then get steamed as you get dragged over coals.
Yet there's actually something hidden to the player that's going to make this experience even worse, and that's the 11th God of Bastion, RNG also being added into the mix. Now RNG in this game is a cruel bastard, and you will know its power when it randomly tells the enemies to not take any damage whatsoever, or worse, reflect your own attacks back at you!
Not being able to predict when this is going to happen is like walking a tightrope at all times, and since these reflections count as coming from the enemy, those attacks you launched are coming back BUFFED.
