3. Danica Patrick - Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed
I know this might seem like blasphemy, and might even make you elicit you're own "WHAT?" moment, but Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is such a phenomenally good kart racer that I honestly posit it up at the top of the list alongside Mario Kart 64, CTR and Diddy Kong Racing.
It simply is that bloody good. It handles like a dream, the tracks are brilliantly designed allowing for amazing moments where you'll soar off a jump and switch into a plane before splashing down as a speedboat before screaming off into the distance, and the character roster is... utterly bizarre.
Drawing from across its lengthy tenure, Sega gave players the chance to play not only as Sonic and pals, but characters from Jet Set Radio, Super Monkey Ball, Samba Di Amigo, Alex Kidd, and more. But there's one character that stands out for the strangest reasons.
Danica Patrick, a famed professional race car driver makes an appearance, and it is utterly bizarre to see this accomplished real-life sports celebrity racing alongside anthropomorphic hedgehogs and other over the top characters. It's a truly weird crossover but thanks to its memorable nature surely has to be counted as a successful one!
