When loading up a From software video game there are a few things that one can expect from the experience before the titles have even hit your TV, that there will likely be a gaming challenge waiting for you the size of Killamanjaro, that there will most definitely be some incredible boss fights on the horizon, and that you will likely curse the name of the devs that insist on putting so many poisons, toxic or bleed sources in the game!

However alongside all of these is the shadow of a very familiar character, who whilst changing shape across the years has remained ever-present within most of Fromsofts biggest titles, that being the one and only "Trustworthy" Patches. And trust me those are some very, very heavy quotation marks above his name because you'd not trust this man to make you a cup of tea let alone have your best interests at heart throughout these games.

This is because Patches is a figure who graduated with honors from the Homer Simpson School Of Fighting which he demonstrates by kicking you in the back time and time again, pushing you into pits, wells and sewers all so that he can pick clean your corpse after you bite the big one.

Now, as with all things in these games, there's far more going on than meets the eye with Patches, especially seeing as without his routine betrayals you'd likely not have found the way towards your numerous goals, but still if you trust this guy to have your back don't come crying to us when he stabs you in it....for the fifth time.
