8 Video Game Crossovers That Made You Say WHAT?!
2. Resident Evil And Under The Skin - Under The Skin
I tell you what, despite putting out some absolute stinkers from time to time and being a little too greedy and overeager with monetization in some games, Capcom really does look like a company willing to throw down the pens and pencils and pick up the pints, as some of the ideas they bring to the table really are the stuff only true session monsters would come up with.
Just take a look at all of the incredible crossovers we got with Monster Hunter, Marvel Vs Capcom, DMC in Viewtiful Joe, and of course the absolute madness that is the litany of Resident Evil cameos and partnerships with other titles.
Yet while many of these are impressive bits of fan service, they're just not strange enough to elicit a "What!?" from audiences. And so we introduce the PS2 title Under The Skin, a game that is so thoroughly drenched in oddity that it's making the sofa it's sat on smell funny.
To begin the very premise of the game is incredibly odd with you playing an alien sent to Earth to prank the inhabitants in order to impress those back home, but things get truly bizarre when you reach the Racoon City level in which you must now prank a tonne of Resident Evil zombies alongside dealing with Jill Valentine and even the bloody Nemesis.
To see that horrifying burnt horse-toothed face rendered in a cute cel-shaded sprite is jaw-dropping enough, but when you couple these visuals with the act of pranking zombies? Well, you might as well just mail your brain to the moon for how little sense it makes.
