8 Video Game Decisions You HAD To Make (Because You Weren't Levelled Enough)

5. A Lack Of Courage - Persona 4 Golden

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Cait Sith
Atlas

Away from combat and actions, Persona 4 Golden has a unique, some might say frustrating approach to incentivising players to go through it a second time - many dialogue options are simply locked out on a first playthrough.

Numerous times throughout the game, you might select a dialogue option, only for the game to inform you that you don't yet have enough Courage for it. And so, you'll be forced to pick another dialogue choice in order to proceed.

This is especially prevalent earlier in the game before you've been given a chance to raise the Courage stat, effectively forcing your hand during certain exchanges.

This ensured that the most completionist of players felt damn-near compelled to give the game a second go-around, with social stats accrued during an initial playthrough carrying over into the New Game+. Those folk at Atlus sure aren't daft.
