8 Video Game Franchises That Will Never Have Satisfying Endings
6. Battlefield: Bad Company
Battlefield: Bad Company is one of the best Battlefield games of the entire series. In lieu of gritty serious characters being serious with each other, the game had fun characters that were actually likeable. It was a fun game that didn't take itself seriously, which makes it even more frustrating that the series was cut short of a third instalment.
The second game ended with the surprise announcement that Russia had suddenly invaded the US and a full blown war was about to kick off, giving the ending a genuine cliffhanger that had players wanting more. The trouble is we never got that game. We never got the answers or the payoff, giving the game a really unsatisfying ending in the long run.
And chances are, we won't get to see that third instalment, considering how we've been waiting seven years already and DICE have turned their attentions to other projects.
Lastly, if we ever did see that sequel, it would most likely be disappointing and jarring in itself. DICE have gone on record saying they have no idea where they would take the story, meaning whatever comes will most likely be ultimately forced and unsatisfying.
