8 Video Game "Gifts" That Made You Say HUMBUG

6. Socks - Forza Horizon 5

Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Turn 10

Forza Horizon's Wheelspin reward system gifts players a nifty treat every time they reach a new driver level, with presents that can range from gorgeous cars to a massive chunk o' change.

Or, as the less fortunate among us have discovered, you just might end up with the one thing nobody ever wants to get for Christmas - a pair of socks.

That's right. After levelling up in Microsoft's lavish, mega-budget racer, you can wait with bated breath to see what the wheel has in store for you, only to end up with the most outrageously pointless reward a racing game could possibly muster.

To be clear, this is a game where you're unlikely to see your character's feet often, if ever, and so it can't help but feel like developer Playground Games straight-up laughing at us as they hand us a giant lump of digital coal.

If you don't want to give us a fancy new car, you don't need to be cruel about it, OK?
