8 Video Game Items That Pranked Players

2. Rhythm Dodge Pull Cancel Chip - Hi-Fi Rush

In the bloody fantastic Hi-Fi Rush, you can purchase Chips from the in-game store - no, not the edible kind, but they are pretty tasty regardless, as they grant you passive buffs during combat.

These Chips are generally intended to make you faster, tougher, and just generally more of a gold-plated badass, but there's one Chip you can pick up that's about as useful as shaving foam for a Wookiee.

The Rhythm Dodge Pull Cancel Chip doesn't offer a buff of any kind - instead it straight-up removes the ability to pull items towards you with the Rhythm Dodge ability while dashing, which as anyone who's played the game will know is the exact opposite of helpful.

Evidently developers Tango Gameworks, the cheeky buggers, couldn't resist but poke a little fun at players, lightly ribbing anyone who attempted to mindlessly hoover up every last item on offer in the store. And let's be honest, it was you, wasn't it? It was pretty much all of us, really.

If you read the item description, it even includes a sassy comment from your assist character Peppermint, who says she made this fundamentally useless Chip just to test whether or not you were actually paying attention to all the flavour-text. Alas, it's a big ol' fission mailed.
