7. The Blob - A Boy And His Blob
If it seems even in the slightest bit strange to put a literal blob of goo on this list, then you've never played A Boy And His Blob. If you had, this wouldn't seem odd at all. The blob is the best.
A creature from another world named Blobolonia, the blob escapes an evil uprising to seek help from anyone it could. It ends up crashing on Earth and meeting the titular "Boy", wherein they vow to help each other and form a steadfast bond in short order.
The original design might not have done much for players back in the day, but the reimagined and hyper cute style of the Wii remake is so heartwarming you might need to kick a baby in order to stop your innards actually melting.
What makes The Blob so utterly brilliant is that it's actually bloody useful, transforming into objects and items to help you progress, and to top it all off, you can give the wee gooey lad a hug. There is a button. To Hug. A Blob.
