8 Video Game Secrets That ONLY Appear On Halloween

4. Batman: Arkham Knight

The Batman games have always been loosely tied to the horror genre, largely thanks to its gothic noire presentation. A city akin to hell and perpetually shown at night, villains that prey on the weak, and a hero that uses fear to battle his foes all combine to make something incredibly terrifying in places.

There is one jumpscare among many that really stands out in the series, found in Arkham Knight.

We all know how utterly trouser-browning it was to encounter Man-Bat for the first time. Grappling up the side of a building and being met with that horribly deformed face was so unexpected, and therefore so very very effective. However even once you've taken down this leathery creature and locked it away in GCPD, that's not the last you'll see of Man-Bat, for if you play the game on Halloween you may encounter him again!

On this date, the game resets the jumpscare so that if you return to the GCPD containment cell where the villain was contained, you'll find it smashed open and a guard nearby explaining the breakout. The officer even ends the speech with "Happy Halloween". Thanks mate, I'll forward the dry cleaning bill to you next time and we'll see if you're so cheery.
