8 Video Game Secrets That Were A Waste Of Time

3. A Riddler Trophy - Batman: Arkham Origins

While the concept of completing challenges while at the same time getting small snippets of lore and providing uber-fans with nods to the wider franchise is a brilliant one, the abundance of said trophies meant that many players were burned out on the concept before Arkham City even thought about swooping into our hearts.

So when I say that there is only one to be found in Arkham Origins you might breathe a sigh of relief that things won't just be another drawn-out collect-a-thon, however to that I say SUCK THAT BREATH BACK IN MY FRIEND and change it from "relief" to "frustration" as you're not getting off that easy. Instead of the trophies you now have 200 data packs to find in order to unlock Eddie's secret hideaway.

Now here's the thing, this is a prequel so we're pretty much prepared to see The Riddler escape any ultimate confrontation in this game, however, nothing can quite prepare you for the sheer disappointment completing this sidequest doles out, for you quite literally get nothing but access to an empty hideout that Nigma left some time ago.

Actually, that's a lie you do get something, but that something takes the form of a sole Riddler Trophy, meaning you not only spent all that time unlocking a Poundland bungalow of a hideout but now have a reminder about the hundreds of these little bastards you've collected and the 200+ more you'll have to nab in the next game. Brilliant.

Watching your parents get murdered in an alley by Joe Chill sounds more fun than this.
