8 Video Game Side Missions That BROKE YOU

6. Koko's Quest Line - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Spider Man 2
Nintendo

If you venture to Kakariko Village in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you might cross paths with Koko, a young Sheikah who will send Link on a number of fetch quests to gather missing ingredients for meals she wants to cook.

These recipes belonged to Koko's late mother, who was killed by the Yiga Clan prior to the start of the game.

And upon forgetting said ingredients, Koko will be extremely hard on herself, even calling herself a bad daughter for failing to live up to her mother's culinary legacy.

Even though the player is able to help Koko out by procuring what she needs to whip up a storm in the kitchen, the worst is yet to come.

If you head to the village's graveyard in the morning, you'll find Koko there visiting her mother's place of eternal rest. Furthermore, she reveals that she goes there to secretly cry and grieve in private, before telling Link, "On a rainy day, Koko can cry without mother seeing."

This is one of those rare side quests where you just need to turn the game off afterwards and go for a walk to process the whole damn thing.
