In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, one of the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (FNSM) app requests is from Howard, a recurring NPC who asked Peter and Miles to help him find the pigeons which belonged to his late wife in the two prior Spider-Man games.

In Spider-Man 2, however, he tells Spidey that he's "going on an adventure" and asks him to help relocate the birds to somewhere new and peaceful.

Once you've done so, however, return to Howard's location and you'll be greeted by an ambulance, where the paramedics reveal that Howard has died from natural causes while you've been away.

One of the medics at least tells Spidey that Howard seemed to be at peace, while the web-slinger acknowledges that Howard is now off on his next adventure with his wife.

I'm not crying, you're crying, OK? Beyond being emotionally shattering, though, this side mission also captured the bittersweet essence of everything that being a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man truly is.
