6. Scrapper Perk - Cyberpunk 2077
By now I think it's been pretty well documented that Cyberpunk's original stat was one that needed some....love and care.
Ok let's be honest it needed to be razed to the ground on consoles and started from scratch, and let's not even get started on the prior generation of consoles which honestly needed to be scrapped entirely.
And speaking of scrapping, turns out that a perk designed to help you do just that ended up ruining a tonne of players' early experiences because it was just too damn good at its own job.
You see the perk is designed to automatically break down items marked as Junk in your inventory which in theory would save the player a tonne of time, as normally they'd have to go into their inventory and break things down individually which quickly racks up. Unfortunately, however, there was a slight oversight with just what was deemed "junk" by the perk at the time of launch, as it would read jewelry, precious gems, and otherwise very expensive items that would be excellent for selling as items to break down into basic components. Fancied fencing that pearl necklace for a few thousand bucks? Tough luck pal you've just been given two common components, enjoy!
This was a perk that cost the player time to unlock, points to buy, and actual money as it broke down all their valuables into lesser elements.
Thankfully this was fixed in Patch 1.5 but for a while players actively told others to avoid this perk like the plague, lest it take its grim reaper scythe to anything valuable in their inventory.
