8 Video Games That Forced You To Battle Loved Ones
1. GTA: San Andreas
Poor Old CJ, he's not exactly having a great time back on the streets of San Andreas since coming home.
He's not only got to deal with the death of his mother, a corrupt cop forcibly coercing him to help with shady dealings, but also the fact that his hometown neighborhood is falling to pieces thanks to gang warfare, drugs and outside forces tearing things apart from within. At least through it all he's got his brother and his childhood friends Ryder and Big Smoke who despite approaching him with a sense of hesitancy, have his back when the chips are down.
Oh no wait, sorry my notes are a little skewed here because it turns out the only thing Ryder and Big Smoke have to do with CJ's back is stabbing him in it, as it turns out midway through the game that they have not only been working with corrupt officer Tenpenny in an effort to kill CJ's brother but also with the Grove Street Families biggest gang rival The Ballas. This betrayal hits so hard because in this one instant CJ is left with nothing, adrift in a world where the only person who truly had his best interest at heart is now in danger of being killed in a trap laid by Ryder and Smoke.
What follows is a desperate battle against the pair for their betrayal and one can't help but feel the pain CJ must have experienced in battling two of his oldest friends.
