8 Video Games That Made You Regret Killing Bosses
5. Undertale
Undertale just might be the crowned king of making you feel horrible for killing off bosses, especially for those partaking in the game's murder-happy genocide run.
First off there's Toriel, who will end up mortally wounded by a single hit before heartbreakingly asking, "You really hate me that much?"
But it gets much worse with Papyrus, who will welcome the player with open arms, opting to spare you and seemingly refusing to believe that you would actually kill them.
But if you attack Papyrus, he'll also be killed in one hit, his head will fall off, and while expressing surprise that you killed him, will still proclaim belief in you.
There's optimism and then there's... whatever the hell this is. Papyrus' unflappable belief that people could change for the better made his demise that much more crushing to those who fully committed to the genocide route. Nothing feels good about this.
