Now I know some of you might be expecting the "Fallout" entry of this list to cover the Fallout 3 ending debacle that was itself solved with DLC adding in the option to send robots and other radiation immune characters into the "telephone booth of death" in your stead, but that's been done to death. So instead I'm going to talk about Fallout 76, and try to do so in a more positive light.

It might take me a while but please bear with me.

So I think by now most people know my thoughts on Fallout 76, but for those in the back here's Wonderwall.

I think Fallout 76 is what happens when you posit an abattoir run-off hose above a well-beloved franchise, and it is painfully unfunny how the only thing that seemed to work on Day One of this game was its bloody microtransaction store. It was an insult to fans, a huge disservice to the Fallout legacy, and was simply not worth your time.

However, I will begrudgingly admit that instead of letting the game bleed out, the devs did actually put the work in to fix prevalent issues via DLC, and thanks to the Wastelanders Expansion we now have a game that is finally living up to the bare minimum that fans expected. There are still bugs and issues plaguing the experience, but it is in a much better state than before, and the added human NPCs, the greater and fairer spread of loot, plus the new faction quests gave players a real reason to sink their teeth in.

It may have taken several years to get there, but Fallout 76 is now...ok. Which is a great compliment all things considered.
