Should've Been: Anything Other Than A Quick-Time Event

I know what you're thinking looking at this entry.

"Errr, are you kidding me? Sauron is the literally Alpha and Omega of Big Bad Lads so facing him at the end of this game is pretty apt you absolute plum duffer" and you know what? On a thematic level, you're totally right, Sauron is the perfect end boss.

However mechanically speaking, he's totally the wrong boss.

In a game that featured the Nemesis system so heavily, to have the final fight against the dark lord be so incredible watered down and almost neutered from this mechanic felt utterly... wrong!

If the team had taken more care with things, the enemies you took down could have informed characteristics of the battle, such as inspiring double damage-dealing hatred if you took down his favored captains, or even limited some of your moves as Sauron studies and watched your tricks being used on his underlings.

Instead, we got about ten seconds of the least climactic clash in the game and were left with a rather sour taste in our mouths as the Dark Lord appeared to be the Duff Lord after all that build.
