8 Video Games You Didn't Realise Were Set At Christmas

3. Blue Stinger

Metal Gear Solid Christmas
Sega

Here we are with yet another survival horror game set at the run up to Christmas. This long forgotten Dreamcast game had a double whammy to deal with on release. Firstly, it came out in 1999, lost in the shadow of 1998s mammoth releases and the introduction of a little title called Silent Hill. Secondly, though it seems sad to say, it was a Dreamcast exclusive.

Blue Stinger very much followed in the footsteps of the survival horror video games that preceded it, taking you on a third person adventure to fight monsters in close quarter locations. The game itself starts out with the protagonist preparing for a Christmas party during his vacation aboard a boat. Preparations however are rudely interrupted by a meteorite that crash lands into the nearby Dinosaur Island, and a subsequent outpouring of bloodthirsty creatures on land and sea. It's a good job then that the protagonist is a first class member of ESER forces, the quicker he can sort out this mess then the sooner he can get back to his party.
