8 Video Games You Didn't Realise Were Set At Christmas

1. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

For most, the Metal Gear franchise started in 1998 with the renowned Metal Gear Solid on Playstation. However, the truth of the matter is this series of games actually started way back in 1987. Though the first entry had nothing to do with the festive season, its sequel kind of did. The the 8-bit top down stealth game Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake actually takes place on... You guessed it, Christmas Eve.

Set in a world with a crippling oil crisis, a top Czech scientist with an incredible breakthrough is kidnapped by the heinous soldiers of the fabulously named Zanzibarland. In response, Solid Snake is brought out of retirement to not only save his life but to save the world from economic ruin and nuclear disaster.

Though this game came out for the MSX2, surely somebody somewhere can reskin this game to dress Solid Snake as Santa and create a delightful stealthy Christmas game. That would be the dream, wouldn't it?
