8 Video Games You Spent 100+ Hours In (And Still Haven't Finished)

6. Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Odyssey was already pushing it with its seriously beefed-up length, but follow-up Valhalla is perhaps the most egregious recent example of a game outrageously outstaying its welcome.

Anyone who's pumped major time into the game or - gasp, actually finished it - will appreciate that the main story is a 20-hour romp distended out into a 60-hour chore packed with relentless busy-work and bloat.

Throw in a "healthy" amount of side quests and exploration and you're easily over the 100-hour mark before you roll credits on this thing - if you even do at all.

Again, there are Reddit threads full of long-suffering Assassin's Creed fans struggling to motivate themselves to finish the game after sinking well upwards of 100 hours into it, as though it's since become a job to them - a bitter, interminable pill to swallow.

It's precisely the sort of exhausting experience many evidently got tired of, instead moving onto another game and ultimately never returning to it.

That the recent Assassin's Creed Mirage could be comfortably beaten in around 15-20 hours - or 30 hours with some solid side content indulgence - felt like an oasis in the desert for many.
