3. Emotional Connection To All The Characters
Whether it's down to an exemplary casting process, the talent of the actors themselves, directors, or a combination of all that and an unquantifiable 'x-factor', Uncharted - and Naughty Dog by proxy - have amassed one hell of a directorial style. Right from the get-go in the first game you knew you were in for a cinematic experience the likes of which we'd never felt the impact of since the first Metal Gear Solid. Such vibrant and likeable performances across the board helped endear everyone from Drake to Sully, Elena to Chloe - even love-to-hate antagonists like Terry Flynn to our collective hearts. It stands to reason that part of Uncharted's appeal is routed in that blurring of the lines between knowing you're embarking on an incredible cinematic experience, and one you'll get to take part in alongside. Naughty Dog's prowess as storytellers is more front and centre than ever these days, and as the past Uncharted games and then The Last of Us proved, you're going to be completely invested in each and every character, every step of the way.
