8 Ways Video Games Punish You For Breaking Their Rules

Ragequiters are present in almost every form of competitive online game, but they are the most infuriating when encountered in a fighting game. As a lot of fighting games don't have any countermeasures in place to stop players who quit mid-match from retaining their points, and simultaneously stopping their opponents from gaining points, ragequitting in the FGC is considered a notoriously scummy move.

When designing Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Capcom decided to throw in an appropriately cheeky counter to players that decide to ragequit a certain amount of times - by giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Should someone ragequit too often, they'll be thrown into a special lobby just for them and their ilk. As this lobby is entirely compromised of other players that also ragequit, it's almost impossible to complete a match - as the chances of your opponent ragequitting are incredibly high, considering how every player found themselves stuck in said lobby in the first place.

The only way to escape this hell is to complete a certain amount of matches without ragequitting, at which point you will be released from the lobby and allowed to fight against players who have some basic decorum.
