To call "The House Of Wu" mission from the underrated and admittedly very unpolished sandbox title True Crime Streets Of LA "a slight departure from the norm" is like saying that "Cannibal Holocaust" isn't exactly the best film for a kid's birthday party, quite the understatement.

Throughout 99.9% of this game, you're embroiled in a gritty and action-packed world, where one-liners fly as quickly as the bullets and where you could build a mansion out of the bodies that pile up on your quest for revenge. And yet, in that 0.1% the game goes completely and utterly insane.

Now in most video games a sudden genre shift often comes at the expense of the player's enjoyment, as they are either unprepared or the game unequipped to deal with this radical departure from the norm. If handled incorrectly you can end up with something like the racing section from Mafia that just sticks in the craw of players for years after, to the point that it's all that some people remember about that bloody game.

However "House Of Wu" is different, and by that I mean that you're suddenly fighting against waves of demons, zombies, and magical floating fire skulls and all culminates in a boss battle against a freaking dragon.

Memorable isn't even the word to describe it. This is a game that takes a huge gamble and it pays off with dividends because you'll find it impossible to exit this experience without grinning ear to ear.
