7. Custom-Made Portable Nintendo 64
Not content with playing one of the most critically acclaimed FPS games to ever be released (Goldeneye 64) at home, this player decided to take it a step further. Using components from the console, one controller and a small LCD screen, they rebuilt the entire machine by compressing it down into a handheld device, complete with a backslot for cartridges. While it's not as compact as Nintendo's other handheld consoles, the finished product looks remarkably official, what with the company logo and small speakers on either side. They even managed to implement the expansion pack for that additional bit of hardware edge. While the video is more instructional, it does demonstrate the engineering prowess of fans and the extent they'll go to use it as a means of improving their hobby. You can actually Google instructions to make your own rudimentary equivalent if you feel like busting out your old soldering iron.
