4. SimCity 3000 The Perfect City
Much like playing Monopoly, simulation titles such as SimCity and The Sims are the kind of games you don't really play to finish. You may spend hours setting everything up and ultimately you'll reach a point where you don't feel you can go further, or you're happy with how much you've accomplished. Let's say you're a big fan of the SimCity series. How long would you be willing to spend on a single save file? A whole day? A week? A few months if a renegade monster hasn't rendered the place inhabitable (in-game or otherwise)? How about four years? That's exactly what this person did. But he didn't achieve this by loading the game up on a quiet Sunday afternoon and seeing how far he could get. Of those years he spent creating his perfect city, 18 months of those were spent planning it before he even clicked New Game. With a population of six million, an average citizen lifespan of around 50 years old and a near-perfect metropolis, it may slowly dawn on the viewer that this could be just a prototype in the player's ultimate end goal of total world domination.
