9 Best PC Multiplayer Video Games You Can Play Offline
9. Cuphead
Considered one of Microsoft's best console exclusives, the hard-as-nails Cuphead is best played with a friend, as the vital ability revive is only available in its co-op mode.
It doesn't make the game all that easier, but it is less frustrating to battle through the title's lusciously crafted, hand-drawn levels with somebody by your side. The difficulty might put some off, but the personality in every frame of the game's gorgeous throwback levels more than makes the occasional slog worthwhile, with the inventive bosses and charming characters of Cuphead and Mugman themselves alleviating the pain.
Likewise, while the side-scroller can be an infuriating time when played solo, with another player by your side the failures can turn into triumphs, with different tactics becoming available rather than simply trying to brute force your way through every boss. A third character, Ms. Daisy, is also slated to release alongside a new expansion next year, hopefully adding even more to the local co-op experience.
