5. Next-Gen Consoles Remain Nearly Impossible to Get

Oh hey, those new next-generation consoles look great don't they? Let's just pop down the shops and get one...oh, you don't have any? Well, when will you get some?

We can only imagine how many times retailers have been asked that very question this year: when will you be stocking the PS5 and Xbox Series X?

The answer, for most of the year, has been 'whenever and wherever we can before they instantly sell out or all get hoovered up by scalpers selling them for a premium on Ebay.'

It really sucks. So many people want to get their hands on one of the consoles, but simply can't. A worldwide chip shortage, the COVID-19 pandemic and ridiculous levels of demand have all snowballed into one, and a year after their release, there's still no sign of the consoles becoming readily available any time soon.

2022, hopefully, will be the time when it all dies down and you'll be able to walk into your local shop, slam down your dollarydoos and ask for a PS5 and be handed one immediately.
