9 Cancelled Superhero Video Games That Would've Made Millions

2. Green Lantern/Justice League

Starting out looking like a Green Lantern fighting game and morphing into a full-on Justice League smash 'em up, you'd get to play as everyone from Batman to Wonder Woman, Superman and Flash. There are two sizeable chunks of footage out there, one showing Batman fighting Superman years before the 2016 film would catch up, and another with each character brawling a ton of different enemies.

The BvS clip above is very similar to NetherRealm's Injustice games, but more interestingly you weren't locked to a 2D plain, allowing for a far greater amount of movement and tactics in combat. As a game engine, this looked pretty complete, with dodges and special animations fleshing out both fighters quite considerably.

The more recent clip above shows far more of the game off, retaining the visceral and fast nature of combat but pitting you against scores of foes as an excuse to show off as many moves as possible. The full roster included Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman, all with various sliders denoting their strengths and weaknesses.

For whatever reason the entire thing went under (assumedly alongside the first cancelled Justice League movie) and this is all that's left. Still, with Batman tackling Superman in 2016 and another full-on Justice League movie in the works, it's very possible this will return alongside.
