9 Celebrity Voice Actors Who Ruined Their Video Games

6. Mena Suvari - Aerith (Kingdom Hearts II)

Mena Suvari

When Final Fantasy VII's Aerith reappeared in Kingdom Hearts 1, it immediately engrained itself into the hearts and minds of all as one of the best returns and appearances of any character outside their respective fiction.

Voiced by Mandy Moore, she did a pretty solid job of sounding like how we'd all imagined Aerith would've done had she had access to a full set of pipes in Square's original magnum opus RPG. For KH2 though Moore was cast aside for reasons unknown, with American Pie/Beauty star Mena Suvari taking over - although her far too light tonality leaned too heavily on what can be the worst parts of RPG plot exposition, making what could've been a great scene with Cloud into a total cringe-fest.

It's a fairly short re-introductory scene, and one that attempts to play on the cutesy backstory the two of them had throughout FF VII, but even with Suvari's familiarity with the character and her voicing of Aerith in the Advent Children movie, it ended up coming across as just too saccharine-sweet for her own good.
