6. Pai Chan (Virtua Fighter)

Pai Chan is sort of like the female version of Johnny Cage, but with some serious daddy issues. Pai is one of Hong Kong's premier action stars, and as such, she's kind of a diva. (So...okay, she's exactly like Johnny Cage.)

According to her bio, "Her moods change as quickly as a cat's - she can erupt in passion in one minute, and turn icy cold in the next." This is a somewhat deceptive way of saying that she spent most of her young life trying to kill her dad...right up until he becomes terminally ill.

See, back when she was very young, her father, Lau, spent pretty much all of his time practicing martial arts. As far as we know, he didn't run a martial arts school or train so that he could participate in tournaments with big cash prizes. He just really liked to practice martial arts, and spent an abnormal amount of time doing so while his wife literally worked herself to death trying to be the sole provider for their family.

Pai naturally and rightfully blamed Lau for her mother's death, and then unnaturally decided to devote her life trying to beating him in a martial arts tournament. How does she prepare for this? By shirking her duties as a huge action star and instead spending all of her time training. You know... exactly like her father was doing all those years?

She tried to beat him multiple years in a row, but failed each time. Then, he developed a deathly illness, at which point Pai's entire view on him changed, and all she wanted to do was prove to him that she was worthy of his legacy as a super awesome martial artist. Not only is she a hypocrite, but she's a schizophrenic hypocrite.
