9 Flawed Video Games That Became Perfect After Release
5. No Man's Sky
No Man's Sky is one of the most disappointing games of the generation so far. Hyped up for years on the promise that players would be able to explore an endless, ever-expanding universe, getting into space battles, finding crazy creatures hiding on planets and discovering uncharted alien cultures, the final release ended up being nothing more than a gimmicky survival sim.
Since then though, the developers at Hello Games have been committed to not only working on the features that they promised would be in the game at launch, but completely overhauling the core experience to give players a reason to continue navigating this endless universe.
Thankfully, they've done a pretty good job, making substantial changes over the past year or so that have completely reshaped the structure of the space adventure. Addressing the biggest fan complaints, the current version of No Man's Sky looks nothing like the one that shipped in 2016, with the most recent update, Atlas Rising, adding in multiplayer support, a new economy, and over 30 hours of new story content.
For some it will be too little, too late, but it's a step towards making No Man's Sky the game it should have been.
