9 Flawed Video Games That Became Perfect After Release
4. Grand Theft Auto Online
Another game that was pretty much broken at launch, Grant Theft Auto Online struggled to sustain the amount of players trying to log in. However, when fans were finally able to jump into the multiplayer, they realised that technical issues weren't the game's biggest problem.
Featuring a tiny player count on last-gen hardware and only having a few activities and uninspired missions to take part in, the reality of the highly anticipated multiplayer add-on was a far cry from the vibrant, action-packed mode that the pre-release trailers had suggested.
Part of the reason it felt so lacking was because Heists, Online's supposed linchpin, weren't available until a year after the game shipped. Once these missions finally came out though, the ball was well and truly moving, and GTA Online turned into a remarkable experience.
Thankfully, once that piece of content dropped, Rockstar have been committed to constantly improving the online experience. While it initially had no must-play modes, the multiplayer now arguable has too much to do, brimming with content that's constantly being added to by both the fans and the developers.
