7. Being Torn Apart By A Mech In Black Ops III

But even if the profoundness of these moments has faded, the raw, visceral impact of seeing your character's arms ripped from her body in a first-person perspective is still tough to stomach. The scene is well executed enough that you're surprised when the moment comes. You get knocked to the ground by a bipedal tank-robot, and imagine that in true Hollywood style you'll get saved at the last second. Instead, you (foolishly) throw a punch at the goliath, to which it responds by grabbing your arm and tearing it off like piece of jerky. But watching a human body dismantled so easily by a piece of machinery is every technophobe's nightmare, reminding us of how our own technological advancements are capable of, ahem, tearing humanity apart.
