9 Genuinely Haunted Video Games You Won't Believe
8. Taboo: The Sixth Sense - Fatally Accurate Predictions
You'll have to pardon my ignorance on this one, as I know diddly squat about Tarot card readings. Well, besides the whole "don't mess about with it" aversion that I also associate with the occult and ouija boards.
Clearly someone at Rare didn't think that when they made this lovely little gem in 1989. Didn't see this one crop in the Rare Replay collection, did we?
That's because the story/urban legend that surrounds the game is a lot more sinister than having to play Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. As far as I'm aware, the only thing N&B killed was the franchise.
Whereas Taboo allegedly predicted the deaths of several of its players with eerily accurate readings.
Now, you could skeptically put this down to unfortunate coincidence. How is a NES game capable of predicting something this catastrophic?
But then, much like its real-life counterpart, what's to say these aren't true?
Personally, I wouldn't mess with the occult, real or digital. Do I believe it to be true or not? That's another story.
But do I want to find out if it's true or not? Not on my life.
