9 Hugely-Anticipated Video Games Still To Come In 2018

7. Detroit: Become Human

Tomb Raider
Quantic Dream

The closest of the lot featured here to launch day, David Cage and Quantic Dreams' action-adventure, Detroit: Become Human will be hitting retail in just several days, though not until the day prior to launch will Sony's review embargo be lifted.

Considering past PS4 exclusives - most recently God of War - have had their embargoes quashed weeks, rather than days, prior to launch, Detroit's being in such close proximity to the big day will no doubt trigger a few alarm bells, but surely, Quantic has learned from the mistakes that led its previous game's middling reception.

Already, Detroit looks to be a considerably more involved affair than the Ellen Page/Willem Dafoe-led interactive story that was Beyond: Two Souls, feeling more like a combination of L.A. Noire and Quantic's own Heavy Rain, certainly in segments where the player takes control of android cop Connor.

The multi-character narrative from the latter returns once more for Detroit, with three - Kara, Markus and the aforementioned Connor - androids each adding to the overarching narrative documenting the spontaneous rise of artificial intelligence and the inevitable moral conundrums that result.
