9 Nintendo Switch Exclusives That Could Be Announced At E3
5. Pikmin 4
Pikmin 4 is in active development, that much is known, but when exactly Captain Olimar and his brightly-coloured, miniature followers are set to return is a question that has been without an answer for far too long.
The most current word on the street, which came by way of treasured industry legend Shigeru Miyamoto, is that Nintendo has simply been far too busy with other projects in order for Pikmin 4 to get a look-in development-wise, but that was almost a year ago, right around the time that the Big N was up to its eyeballs in prep work for the Switch's release, so things have hopefully improved since then.
As a franchise, Pikmin doesn't boast the same selling power as, say, Metroid or Zelda, but the fan base is there, ready and waiting for more real-time strategy action. With a spin-off - Hey! Pikmin - just recently announced for 3DS, Nintendo would do well to capitalize on the series' renewed publicity and announce a full-blown sequel next month.
