9 Perfect Video Game Sequel Ideas (That Were Rejected)

7. Prey 2

Silent Hill
Bethesda

The original Prey had a messy development, beginning life in 1995 and going through a few cycles before finally being released in 2006. The game became a success and received some nice reviews for its unique portal-based gameplay, and the concept seemed ripe for a franchise.

A sequel was soon put into motion that starred a new hero, who was a bounty hunter on an alien world. The story would have close ties to the original, but would feature an expansive open world to mess around with. The game was announced with a flashy CG trailer that got fans excited, but then the development went quiet and rumours spread about it being scrapped.

Those fears were eventually confirmed in 2014 when the publisher admitted Prey 2 hadn’t lived up to their standards. Thankfully, the Prey reboot that followed was awesome, but it didn't make us entirely forget what a proper sequel could have been like.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
