9 Pokémon That Are Cheap Knock-Offs Of Previous Ones

2. Baby Pokémon Are Knock-offs Of Their Evolutions

Baby Beginning with the second generation of Pokémon the creators introduced a series of Pokémon that originally didn't have a pre-evolved form. These creatures came to be known as baby Pokémon and are among the worst the series has offered. Not all of these creatures are guilty of cheap imitations - Togepi and Riolu were introduced in the same generation as their evolved forms making them quite original. However, creatures such as Pichu and Cleffa are guilty as charged. Not only do these Pokémon add nothing to the series but they're simply recycled designs of some of our favorite Pokémon. Pichu's attacks and design are so incredibly similar to Pikachu that even the Super Smash Bros. series took notice making Pichu nothing more than a weaker clone. Cleffa and Igglybuff do absolutely nothing but evolve into Clefairy and Jigglypuff, respectively. Does Happiny really serve as anything other than a way to eventually own a Chansey? And when you really think about it, did Snorlax really need a pre-evolved form? The answer is no. Whereas baby Pokémon continue to be cute in the eyes of many that's all they'll really be. Admit it - you didn't think Jynx or Mr. Mime were cute, you thought they were creepy. Why should it be any different when they're presented as babies?
