6. The Fear Demon Knows - Dragon Age: Inquisition
Big spoiler alert here as I’m going to tell you what happens at the end of Dragon Age: Inquisition, so if you don’t want to know, come meet us at number five and we’ll save your spot.
Now this is a really interesting one. Without going really deep into the plot of Dragon Age: Inquisition, essentially the major twist at the end is that one of your companions is not who he appears to be and is actually an Elven god set to pull a big switcheroo on you. It was a heel turn so significant, in fact, that he’s set up to be the villain in Dragon Age 4. There’s a big clue toward this twist earlier in the game though and it’d be completely obvious to you so long as you can speak and interpret ancient elvish.
I know there’s got to be at least one of you in the comments who can so that last bit’s for you.
When you enter the Fade, you can hear the Fear Demon speak to Solas. Now, the demon’s intent is to play on the fears of you and your companions so what it says next is pretty damning. It’s theorised that the phrase, "Dirth ma, harellan. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din", can be translated to something along the lines of "I know, traitor. You will fail. Your pride will lead to your death."
It’d be impossible to pick up if you didn’t understand Elvish but what a huge moment it would have been if you did.
