9 Reasons Why The Witcher 3 Is Better Than Skyrim
4. Moral Choices That Actually Mean Something
There were plenty of choices and decisions to make during Skyrim, but rarely did they ever have lasting consequences in the game world.
And even when they did, for instance following the decision of who to back in the civil war, the plotlines and characters rarely ever came up again, so players didn't actually get the feeling that they were impacting the world they were inhabiting.
Contrarily, every single thing you did in The Witcher 3 seemed to haunt you, whether you wanted it to or not. Even tiny decisions could have huge ramifications later on - such as political allegiance granting victory to sides that directly impact the look of the world itself - making you constantly think about every move you made.
Likewise, the big moral choices weren't signposted anywhere near as much as they were in Bethesda's game. You had to go on your gut feeling as to whether what you were doing was right or wrong, and more often than not the game never explicitly graced you with a conventionally 'good' or 'bad' outcome.
