9 Reasons Why The Witcher 3 Is Better Than Skyrim
1. A Playable Character That Not Everybody Sucks Up To
One of the major issues with the worlds Bethesda create is that they always fall apart as a result of the way they frame the player character.
In every single RPG they've released so far, the main character is readily accepted as the saviour of everyone they meet, automatically rising the ranks to lead major guilds and factions after doing a few fetch quests.
But because The Witcher is based on Geralt rather than a pure creation of the player, the developers are able to create a more dynamic and three-dimensional protagonist.
Geralt isn't automatically accepted by everyone as the hero we know/want him to be, and in fact, it often takes a lot of persuasion for people to believe that he's even a nice human being.
It makes the world the player inhabits more believable when they can't get what they want all of the time, and it makes the protagonist's progression through the world feel more natural and organic than the video-gamey systems present in Bethesda's releases.
