9 Reasons You're WRONG About Resident Evil 6
1. It's Not Trying To Be Survival Horror
One of the biggest criticisms people launch at Resi 6 is that it totally sucks as a survival-horror game. Fans hate it because it took the series so far away from its unassuming roots and so far into Call of Duty territory, and that is true, but that doesn't make the sequel bad. Just that in the context of the series as a whole, it was probably a bad move.
As established already, Resident Evil 6 is categorically not a survival-horror game, it's a ridiculous, over-the-top, Michael Bay-inspired action movie. Aside from maybe the first 15 minutes of Leon's campaign (which in itself starts with an explosive opening cutscene), there's nothing that even resembles conventional survival-horror, mechanically or thematically.
Taken for what it is, the sixth release is a rollicking good time, and while it might not be a great Resident Evil game, it's still a good game nonetheless, and one of the most interesting instalments in the whole franchise.
