9 Reasons You're WRONG About Resident Evil 6

8. Co-Op Is Actually Great

A lot of people, rightly so, complained that the obviously crowbarred-in co-op ruined Resident Evil 5. You just can't have a proper survival-horror experience when you and a friend are dicking around over party chat, and it was clear that the feature was a late addition to the sequel anyway, clumsily implemented in a way that impacted both the story and moment-to-moment gameplay.

With Resi 6 though, co-op was the focus from the get go, and each campaign (bar Ada's) was obviously built around the concept. Consequently, each storyline feels inherently stronger, as the characters actually have a proper reason to be together and actual chemistry this time around. The gameplay itself also benefits from two players, with the set-pieces and even regular shootouts ramping up the tension with more monsters on screen, and a reliance on the two players working together to complete objectives.

Yeah, co-op isn't for everyone, and you might think it's the worst thing to ever happen to this franchise, but there's no denying that Resi 6 does co-op well, and if you're open to that experience, you'll have a bloody good time.
