9 Reasons You're WRONG About Resident Evil 6

4. It Knows How Goofy It Is

Resident Evil 6 is a game where you can play as someone who literally karate chops monsters to death. Resident Evil 6 is a game where you fight the main boss a billion different times, across four different campaigns. Resident Evil 6 is a game where creatures shrug off rocket launchers like it's nothing.

It's goofy as all hell, but it absolutely knows it. Sure, it tackles its story with a surprisingly straight face, but it knows everything around it is ridiculous. Some fans complained about Chris' boulder punching in Resi 5, but the franchise had been escalating the silliness for years by that point, with its heroes essentially becoming superheroes without the costumes and much more blood and gore.

The sixth release not only embraced that, but notched it up to an even greater level. Everything about the game screams flashy excess, with the emphasis being on pure fun at all times. Again, that might seem like a betrayal of the franchise, but taken on its own merits, it's infectiously charming.
